Who We Are
"The biggest publishing company you've never heard of" - Fast Company, April 2014
We live in an information-rich, always on world. Constantly evolving technology enables easier, faster, and more robust knowledge acquisition and sharing. And that fuels an individual’s actions, beliefs, and influence.
Our fingertips can access almost limitless information, and our minds and souls yearn to be fed. Yet, too many companies believe a few blog posts, a Twitter account or an ad campaign will maintain visibility amid the perpetual torrent of data and conversation.
At SJR, we are pioneers – enabling companies to offer the knowledge and inspiration required to break through the clutter and have meaningful impact in the new communications reality.
We call it middleweight content.
What We Do
Original, custom, on brand and on message, middleweight content exists between the persistent flyweight buzz of social media and the overwhelming heavyweight intensity of white papers and advertising.
Done right, middleweight content transfers knowledge, delivers thought leadership, and owns innovation. It creates connective tissue between a company and its audience by offering engaging, sharable content people want to consume. And it builds interest and support by providing valuable insights and relevant information every day.
Whether editorial or multimedia, middleweight content is the new currency of digital marketing – a powerful tool to help every company meet its communications objectives.
The creation and dissemination of middleweight content is our forte above all else.
We are always looking for great talent. Please email Dan Lamonaca to learn more about our open positions.

The design, video, and development teams are connected closely to all sectors of the company, but work most frequently with editors, account managers, and each other in the ideation and execution of projects.
What is SJR's internship program?
Group SJR regularly has summer interns working in the design, video, audience development, and writing departments. Internships are either paid or given school credit, and we consider both college students and recent graduates for intern positions. The creative team is also open to having interns in the studio during the school year as well.
What is the company atmosphere like?
We chat and joke around while simultaneously getting a lot of good work done. We find that some of our best ideas come while eating snacks at someone else's desk. We regularly have office parties and happy hours, which are great for taking photos of tipsy coworkers (which are then posted on our secret office Tumblr).
